Drop a folder of photographs onto the editor above and the grid builds as the files are read. Nothing is uploaded: the images are decoded by your browser, laid out in the page, and written into a PDF on your own machine. That is why it is free, why it works offline once the page has loaded, and why it is safe to use on files that belong to a client.
Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and WebP. Add a whole folder in one go — the order is preserved, which is normally capture order — then drag any thumbnail to move it.
Columns, rows, page margin, and the gap between frames, on A4, US Letter, A3, Legal, or a custom page size in either orientation. Fill mode crops every frame to a consistent shape; leave it off to keep the original aspect ratios.
Filenames under each frame, with or without the extension, or your own captions where the filename is not the useful name. Frame numbers give a client the shortest possible way to say which images they want.
A running header and footer for the client, the shoot, and the date, plus page numbers once the set runs past one page. This is what turns a grid of thumbnails into a document somebody can file.
A PDF rendered at up to 300dpi, or the pages as PNG or JPEG. The whole render happens on your own machine, which is why there is no queue, no watermark on the free tier beyond a small credit line, and no upload.
It depends entirely on whether somebody has to decide from the sheet or only find something on it. Keep it to twenty frames a page or fewer when a client is choosing — below that size it gets hard to judge focus and expression. Go to thirty-five or forty-eight when the sheet is a reference for locating a frame you already know exists. Recognition survives at thumbnail size; choice does not.
Once the grid is full the sheet pages automatically, so a two-hundred frame shoot at 5 × 7 becomes six readable pages rather than one unusable one.
A PDF goes one way. If you need an answer rather than a delivery, save the sheet and send a review link instead: the client opens it with no account, taps the frames they want, leaves a note on any of them, and submits. The picks and comments land in your dashboard and you get an email with the filenames. Sharing is part of the Ultimate plan — the pricing page has the detail. The editor and the PDF export are free and need no account.
